My Sunflower

My daughter Nickole drew this picture of a sunflower in Kindergarten. I chose this picture because it came from her heart, she drew this picture because my kitchen is full of sunflowers. At the time I was decorating and painting sunflowers on the walls and she wanted to add it to all the rest of the pictures. It was her contribution to the collection. Nickole drew this fourteen years ago and it is still hanging on my refrigerator.

  1. It is amazing to me the eye children seem to have for art. The pictures they paint can keep me riveted. Putting a child's art in a frame only adds to the beauty and it suddenly looks like you spent thousands on your artwork. The children I teach give their parents a framed painting every year for their holiday gift. I always hear how special that gift was to the parents. A lot of them can not believe their child painted the picture. They actually think it is a painting the children picked out and bought. This makes me laugh a little because on my teaching salary I sure can not afford to buy art work for parents.
